ReCinema

What could Cinema’s next 100 years look like?

About

ReCinema is a collaboration of filmmakers working to evaluate and evolve the way film stories are created and connected with their audiences. We are currently testing highly iterative story development and pre-production processes, utilizing a broad range of disciplines as early in the filmmaking process as possible.

As with the conception of most things, our’s began with a question –

“What separates everyday film stories from the truly magnificent ones?” (Or more precisely, what separates their process of creation?)

Of course, this isn’t a new question nor is there likely a perfect answer. Films are hard work anyway you cut them, yet despite surprising amounts of passion, energy and sacrifice most don’t seem to rise to their or the medium’s full potential.

So how does one improve the odds for creating something above average; something uniquely compelling and memorable? Well, if we knew for certain that Maserati Sail Boat would already be paid for. Thankfully however, there are some unique industry models possibly directing the way.

We’re currently betting on processes that favor –

Our first phase of activity is putting to test our initial concepts through the creation of one or more compelling, fully-funded, award-winning short films with invited writers and directors. We’ve wittily dubbed said phase, ReCinema Shorts: 01.

You can keep tabs on our progress via the usual suspects. If you think you might be a good fit for partaking in the mad-cap fun, by all means get in touch.
